Last year our school was trying to get rid of this kitchen at our Whale of a Sale for 15 dollars. A four piece kitchen set that just needed some repainting:). I had already bought Tristan a kitchen for Christmas and didn't have room for a kitchen this big...So, my Mom said she wanted it for her house. Well, I finally got around to this project. I painted it with ASCP Duck Egg and Old White. The faucet was missing on the sink and I went to Hobby Lobby and bought the letter "J" and turned it upside down. Pretty clever. It worked. I also hit the dollar store and filled up her kitchen with some muffin pans, baskets, cups, etc. It turned out adorable. I bought some fabric to make some ruffles to put underneath the sink instead of the doors. But, I don't have a sewing machine, so I will have to save that project for later. Stay tuned...

Kids Chair for Lego Table
This is a picture of a chair that I found for Cooper's Lego table. I found it while shopping at our local thrift store...along with SEVERAL other fun things, that I cannot wait to get my hands on and paint. Cooper is very happy about it. I debated over ordering two chairs online. Everything of course is expensive. Then I ran across this chair and paid maybe 4 dollars. I slapped on some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and its as good as new (with a little aged look around the edges).

Baby Parker is under Construction!
My sweet cousin Anissa, is expecting her first child in October. Parker Lee got showered with gifts by those who love him, this afternoon. His nursery is decorated with a Construction theme (dump trucks, tools, etc.). So, Anissa wanted his shower to be themed around that as well.
I usually make my standard diaper cake for baby showers...but, I made a baby carriage I had seen on Pinterest. It turned out really cute, and was a lot easier than the diaper cakes I normally make.
My sweet friend that works with me made this baby rattle for the door. (She sells some of her things at monograms plus) This is what Anissa is going to hang on her door in the hospital when he arrives.
Going along with the "Under Construction" theme... We had a chex mix that we labeled as Nuts and Bolts and Oreo's that we labeled as Spare Tires.
This picture above is a half apron that I made... my Mom picked it up at home depot and I painted it orange and made a label that read, "Daddy's Diaper "Dootie" Tool Belt". I stuffed it with wipes, baby powder, butt paste, hand sanitizer and air freshener.
This is the adorable mom to be- working at her own shower!
The hostesses filled a dump truck up filled with goodies and also got Anissa her baby stroller.
We played several games at the baby shower. We passed around "Caution" tape and had everyone cut the tape the length they thought was the girth of Anissa's belly. The person who was the closest won. This was pretty funny.

Roll Tide, Ya'll
Roll Tide, Ya'll!
Today, Cooper went to Tuscaloosa and is now enjoying tailgating, while Mommy and Sissy stay behind to get ready for a baby shower tomorrow. But first...Tristan and I had to take care of some business!
I promised Tristan I would take her to get her toes painted, since Cooper was going to Tuscaloosa. Once I told her that, there was no tears! She was so excited about this adventure. Then when we arrived and she saw the butterfly chair, she was beyond happy. Until...everyone started giving her all kinds of attention. She froze up. She doesn't like that! I'm like, "T, you gotta get over this girl!"
Anyhoo, as you can tell in the picture below she just can not CONTAIN her excitement! Ha~

40th Birthday
I have been crazy busy these past three weeks and have not had time to devote to my blog. Hopefully our life will slow down a bit for now:). Me and two of my friends got together for dinner last week at California Pizza Kitchen. We had a great time catching up somewhat celebrating Patty's 40th birthday (it was in July). Since it is a big birthday, she gets to celebrate all year long! I found a REDNECK Wineglass for her and made this from picture above...I've been seeing it on Pinterest and thought, how funny! I tied on the saying for her to remove later, so she can use the vase in her office at church! Ha!

Roll Tide Roll
Football Season has begun! One of Blake's Clients were so sweet to give us two tickets to the first Alabama game yesterday. And they were seats in THE ZONE! We are very grateful, and had a great time! We shipped the kids off to my Mom's Saturday morning and they drove to Hartselle to see my Grandmother and Aunt Dado and Uncle Dennis. Then we headed for T-town. It was really sad to see all the devastation from the storm. 15th Street is no longer. It's hard to remember what was even there before.
We stopped by the AOII house and saw that they were FINALLY doing some updates to our house. It has been a long time coming.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY HUSBAND GET A HOLD OF MY CAMERA...JUST A BUNCH OF RANDOM PICTURES. HE GETS A LITTLE CAMERA HAPPY!!!!! |
YEA ALABAMA!
