Super Hero Heaven

Today we went to a Comic Book Store that was giving away free comics of your favorite superhero and you could have your picture taken with your favorite superhero as well. Cooper was in Super Hero Heaven. He "had to" wear his Batman shirt (because that is is favorite superhero) even though, as soon as we left, we had a baseball game to catch. Which basically just means more work for Mommy. But, it was totally worth it! Cooper had so much fun. They had artists there who do the artwork for Comic Books and Cooper wanted a sketch of Batman. So, we had this lovely man and his wife helping us and he didn't even need to look at a Batman picture. He did an amazing job! His detail work was phenomenal!

Mother's Day Painting

I change out my picture in my kitchen, either every holiday, or month, etc. It was way past time to take down my Easter Bunny Painting. I painted a nice picture of some flowers, which I thought was appropriate for Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day Weekend!

Cooper's Mother's Day Present to Me

This is the sweet Mother's Day Gift Cooper gave to me today when he got home from school. I told him it's the Best Gift Ever!!! They made a necklace with their thumbprints on clay and had it put on a nice rope and clasp! I am very impressed and will be wearing it to work tomorrow!

Blake's 30th Birthday

Blake, Finally turned the big 3-0. I am eleven months older than him and he lets me know that every once in a while:).  His birthday party was last Friday, in the midst of the tornado's and power outages. I rented the lounge and terrace at the Country Club and had live entertainment, food, drinks, friends, and family. The party was so much fun, the guests got to listen to dueling piano players...and we almost didn't have power! Yikes. When I spoke with the director, she told me the Club should have power by Friday morning at 6a.m., NO GUARANTEES. Blake still didn't want me to call off the party so, I waited til Friday morning to hear from the director. Well, there was no power that morning or after lunch. So, Blake said he would use the generator for the band and lights outside, the club had a generator for the food. Blake didn't want to call off his party.  The food wasn't going to be what I had originally planned, but oh well. We had to make do. Well, thirty minutes before the party was to begin the power came on! PRAISE THE LORD! Although the evening felt great, it wasn't exactly going to be the most ideal.  I could kick myself because of all the running around and last minute things I had to do that day. I forgot my CAMERA! I almost never leave home without it. What a shame. There would have been some great pictures made. I had decorated with Blue, Yellow, and Green balloons (30 to be exact). White tablecloths with a yellow small one on top. Flower vases on every table with a white flower in all the vases (Some roses, Day lilies). On the cake table I had two LARGE cylinder vases filled with water and golf balls almost to the top and had White Lillie's coming out of the vases. It was very striking and very appropriate for a husband who loves GOLF and a party on the Golf Course. I also had everyone sign a picture that I had copied of Blake when he was 3 or 4yrs old in his favorite "Space Control" shirt. I had two other pictures out beside it on easels (of Blake at different ages). Sorry, no photos to show from it. :( Expect of the pictures I had out for people to sign.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Cooper's class had a Cinco De Mayo Party at school today and made this cute, silly craft! It's a Taco! Ha! Hope everyone gets to eat their tacos today! I know we will!

Cahaba Heights

My friend driving through her neighborhood the morning after the storm. Cahaba Heights got hit really bad. My friend Samantha had a lot of damage to her Boutique Serendipity. Cooper's teacher, Ms. Jennifer lost her home. :(((

Devastation From the Storms

I have been totally out of sorts and trying to get back on track after dealing with the tornado's that came through Alabama last week. Our house has MINOR DAMAGES compared to what other people have lost: Their homes and their loved ones. Our house got hit with the first storm last wed. at around 5:30am. The storm was not to come through until around lunch time that day...so, no one was expecting anything. Our family got woken up by the storm, it felt like our house was shaken to the core and things were hitting the windows, the winds were tremendous. Cooper woke up right before the storm hit, Blake and I never heard the sirens, but I believe Cooper must have and that's what woke him up. 20 or so min. later the storm did hit, and Tristan came down stairs violently shaking like a scared dog. We had a lot of roof damage, fence on one side of our house blew off, and our trampoline destroyed (It was tossed into our trees). Crazy, I've never seen such in my life. AGAIN...NOTHING in comparison to what everyone else has lost.
I pray for all those who have lost their homes and have
nothing but the clothes on their backs.
I pray for the people who have lost loved ones due to the storm
or families who are still searching for loved ones. I pray that they are able to find peace and see God's Grace in this tragedy. Amen.
