Baby Suzanna's Shower



This is the Mommy to be and her son, and soon to be big brother, Owen. This was the invitation to the baby shower for Stephanie and her little baby girl Suzanna Jane Stubbs. They are using both of their mother's names.



They had a baby shower game to play. The host past out baby bottles filled with juice. The first to finish the bottle, of course, wins. I sat that out...but, It did look hard. Those little babies work hard to get their milk! Stephanie said Owen had seen this at a baby shower before and didn't get to play. So, this time he didn't leave disappointed.

You can tell Cooper was not too KEEN on the baby bottle game!

Tristan was being a little helper to my friend Stephanie while she was opening gifts. She remembered what gift we brought and wanted Stephanie to open that one!

We bought Suzanna her first smocked swimsuit!

Nic turns 5!

This weekend the kids and I attended Nic's (One Of Coop's Best Buddies) 5th Star Wars Birthday Party. It was at our Church Lighthouse. There was a bouncy and balls, hula-hoops, etc. For the kids to play. Then all of a sudden at the top of the gym, where the walking track is...out comes DARK VADER! The kids all loved it! Except, Tristan. She was scared to death. So, I didn't get the best pictures because I was having to hold her the entire time. Hopefully, Patty will remember to email me what pics she got.  

The kids got Dark Vader Masks as party favors and they have been wearing them ever since.

Cooper's Dresser Redo!

I have been working very hard on painting Cooper's dresser. I don't know what had gotten all over the top and down some of the front of the dresser. But, it looked horrible. It was originally BLACK. It matched his bed. Not anymore! I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Paris Gray and Old White. I did the dresser in Paris Gray and the drawers in Old White. I sanded the edges of the drawers and also painted the feet in Old White. I applied the clear wax and then the dark wax only to the Paris Gray color. I also painted a first coat of Old White on the sides of the dresser and then Paris Gray over that. Then once dry I sanded that down so the Old white color would show through. I wanted to find some fun knobs for the dresser and spent all day searching. But, couldn't find anything that I loved. So, I painted the knobs Old White and wrote the numbers 5, 1,1,2,0,0, and 6. Can you guess what those numbers mean? COOPERS BIRTHDAY! May 11, 2006! Cooper thought it was very cool. I found a mirror in my attic that I wasn't using and thought it would be perfect above his new dresser but, I had to paint it first to match. The mirror I painted a first coat with Paris Gray and then lightly applied the Old White with a gentle brush stroke. Next, I applied a clear wax and then a dark wax! Love it, I just need to have my Hubby hang it! :)

Chalk Paint Class

Mom's Lamp in the Duck Egg Blue

This past weekend my mom and I took Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint Class. It's located in Pelham, on Old Montgomery Hwy. and taught by Stacey. She was a great teacher and taught us several different techniques. Everyone went home with four different projects.


 Some Useful Tips I Learned: 
After using your waxes-Don't wash your rags in your washer. It will ruin the washer! Oops! 
When it comes to waxing, I learned that there's really not a correct way to do it, you just make it look how you think it should look. You can make your paint as dark as you want it by applying more of your dark wax. And don't use a wet brush when applying your wax!



It was a really fun class and now I've got my Mom hooked on the Chalk Paint. After we left the class I picked up the kids and headed to my Mom's house. I helped her paint her bathroom mirror and a large 16x20 Frame with her chalk paint that she purchased.  We had a great and fun day together.

Stacey taught us how to crackle paint.

Annie Sloan puts stencils in all of her cabinets. This is a technique that Stacey showed us and how to mix the colors on the stencil. Very pretty.

This is my picture frame that I painted in Louis Blue. It's a beautiful color.
