Snaggle Tooth!

This is Davis (in picture above). His Mommy was telling me how he could do a back handspring like no other.   She wasn't lying. He's a natural! There was perfect form and everything. I was very impressed.  She has no idea where this talent comes from. He's 3!

Kim and I tried to get a snap shot of these two sweet girls, but no chance...They were too busy bouncing.

Decorations for Halloween

I am finally getting in "Halloween Mode". My kids have been asking me why we don't have out our Halloween stuff. Well, Mommy has been busy. I did buy pumpkins last week.

I finally got around and made these Halloween apothecary jars (that I'm pretty sure I saw on Pinterest).  I might have seen this on another blog and then pinned it onto one of my boards. I found all the supplies at Michaels. The bottom part is just a wooden square. The candle sticks were wooden and only about 2 dollars. The letters B O O were at Michael's for a dollar. I had the mason jars at home. The circle knobs were also found at Michaels. I painted everything black first and then with my tacky glue, I   

glued the candlesticks to the base and the mason jars to the candlesticks. 

I painted the letters B O O orange with black polka dots. DO NOT like how the B O O letters turned out at ALL! I am going to repaint them another day. I will just paint them ALL BLACK! I just ran out of time today. 

 This Ghost is one of my thrift store finds for a whopping .99 Cents! It was really dirty.  I had to clean it off and repaint another coat of white paint and repainted our FRIENDLY GHOSTS face. He is quiet cute. I thought he needed a cute something around his neck. I combined burlap and ribbon into a bow. 

Stop, Drop, and Roll

This week at school the kids have been learning about fire safety. Today, the firetrucks actually came to the school and gave each class a tour of the fire trucks. They showed the students what certain gadgets do  and even put on their fire suit (I know the just loved doing that in the heat).  Cooper told me he got to get in the firetruck, in the driver's seat. Tristan told me that she didn't because, "They are scaaarrry". But, she said, "my teacher's said they not scary!". So, I asked her why didn't she get in the fire truck and her response was, "Cause!". HMMMM? Wonder where she gets that? 

We got home and I got some pics of the kids in their Jr. Fire Chief Hats. Cooper and I were cracking up  at what a little ham Tristan was being while taking pictures. 

If you notice in the picture before this one...Tristan is doing everything Brother does. And this face is great! 

Cooper usually throws out his "SPIDEY" hands. For spiderman. Well, In this picture he's actually just showing off his bouncy ball. But, Tristan is so used to him throwing a spider web, that she is trying to do that as well. 

Do you see Tristan's hand on her hip? She has started doing this lately. Especially when she is doing a lot of talking:)

Cotton Table Redo

I found this "Cotton Table" at the thrift store a few weeks ago. It was marked for 14 dollars. I didn't really think I wanted it and talked myself out of buying this at the time. A week later, I went back hoping that same table would still be there. I got lucky! It was! And, even better...if a furniture item is in the store for a certain amount of time, they mark it down a percentage. Well, it had been there for a while and was marked down 60 percent, so I paid less than 7 dollars for this table. I know what wonders Chalk Paint can do to a piece of furniture and I was right! I love it! I put Country Gray on the top and Old White on the bottom. 

7th Annual Tablescape Luncheon

I was invited to our 7th Annual Tablescape Luncheon at our church today. I was so delighted to attend, this was my first time doing this luncheon and it was such a treat.  I got there a little early so I could walk around and view all of the beautiful tables. I was amazed at all the creativity.  I didn't come prepared with my camera, so I took out my phone to snap a few pictures. Each table came up with their own theme. The table that invited me, had their table decorated as "Life being a piece of the puzzle". It was adorable. My table is pictured above. Our place mats were puzzles that had been glued together. Before we ate, there was a poem by Shel Silverstein, on our plate to read. The guests each had a cookie that was individually wrapped like a puzzle piece to take home.  We also had a book from the guest speaker (which btw, I can not wait to read) called The Last Christmas Ride by Edie Hand.

Edie Hand was our guest speaker and the book she wrote is based on a true story. Her story is amazing and she brought tears to my eyes...of course once the water works start with me, I cannot get them to stop! Her theme was, Mopping with my pearls on. In a quick summary...her message basically was: that no matter how God has "packaged" your life, you have to go on, and there will be something amazing that comes out of a horrible situation. Your life experiences, help shape the person you become. 

Edie talked about going through a divorce with a 7 year old and always carrying that guilt with her and believing that her son hated her for doing so. Until, later, he was being interviewed, and Edie was with the producer and had her headset on listening. When the person asked her son, " What is one of your favorite memories?" Her son answered, "Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Because my Mom would put all differences aside, and always invited my Dad to spend the night with us on Christmas Eve. So, the next morning we could wake up as a family and have Christmas together as a family." 

How his mother handled that situation would eventually help shape his life. I come from a divorced family and I know my Mom could have said a million things to me about my Dad. But, she never did. She never let on to me about anything. I thank her for that. I am a better person for it. 

God is Good! I look back on my life so far, and I can see so clearly how he has been VERY present in my life. I am so such a blessed woman and see him working miracles everyday!

Anyhoo, she is writing a new book that is coming out soon called, 'Mopping with my Pearls On'.  She is from the South and she is great. Might be worth checking out. Below are some more tables I took some pictures of. This one right below is my favorite!!!!

70's Theme-Cracked me up. The camera phone does it noooo justice. I asked Peggy, who decorated this table, if she found the china at a thrift store...she said, no! That is my wedding china! Ha! Pictures of everyone (who sat at the table) was placed around the table. From when they were younger. Then if you look closely, you will notice the cigarette butts in the ash tray!

Fancy Nancy Theme

This past Saturday, the kids and I, drove to visit my friend Samantha (one of my "Bestie's") and her kiddos Drake and Keaton. Drake and Cooper are the same age and Keaton and Tristan are the same age. So, it's always fun to get them together and always great to see how much Drake and Keaton are growing.  It's also very weird, because Sam and I know each other inside and out! So, seeing little mini Me's of ourselves running around and playing with each other is wonderful! My kids love that family dearly and is always sad to go home:). From the time we woke up that morning until we pulled into the driveway... it was when are we leaving, how much longer, are we there yet?

COOPER AND DRAKE

ELLIE, KEATON, AND TRISTAN

Tristan has been asking a lot lately about "where are my friends, mommy?" Which breaks my heart. She sees Cooper bringing home friends each week and she is a needing some 'girl playtime'. So, being with all the girls this Saturday made Tristan one happy little girl. Maddie, the oldest cousin, was teaching the girls cheers, and spotting them on the trampoline. It was really cute.  And the boys were playing football and baseball and just being boys.  When Cooper tried to get on the trampoline with the "girls"...Tristan told him, "No Cooper! No boys allowed!" HA, that just makes me laugh. 

Burlap Football

My friend, Mande, made another "burlap" decoration for my door. I love it! Roll tide. I could probably make this myself...but, I don't mind paying her a "Friend" price and saving me the time. She would do a much better job than I would. But, she cuts out a pattern primes the burlap with some type of starch maybe, Paints, and stuffs. She is very talented...Her whole family is very talented. I will have to ask Mande what the address is to her sister's blog spot. There, Mande's sister and Mom display their artwork and all the neat things they sell.
