Hot Dog!

The kids and I were at Target and found this Halloween costume for our little  'WINNIE DOG' , Savannah Belle.   The kids think this is the funniest thing ever.  My Mom said, "poor Savannah".   She's right! Ha!

Craft Day

My friend Jami came over last Saturday and I showed her how to use the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I finally got someone into this paint. She had a sewing table that she wanted to repaint. Jami recently moved into a new house. For a house warming gift, I made her a picture frame from plywood.  I worked on the frame, while she finished her table! We were just in a crafty mood that day and I started making a turkey made out of burlap for my front door. I'm not totally finished, I need to stuff it and hot glue the edges. Pictures soon to come...

Pumpkin Patch

Today after school, the kids and I,  drove to the Pumpkin Patch in Hayden.
The kids had a blast.  Below are some fun pictures of our day.  Once we grew all pumpkin'd out, drove a little more ways, to Cullman. There we picked up Kristian and Justin. Cooper saw them and screamed, "Get in this car...I have missed you so much. I haven't seen you in forever!" It was really cute.

DIY Rug

So, I have put the painted rug under my kitchen table. It really does lighten up my kitchen. I need to go buy some spray fabric starch. I'm out:(Rats! Now I just will count down to the first spillage on the white  stripe! Ha!

Painted Rug

I took these pictures when the rug was still wet, so there a few parts that look discolored, but the rug will not look that way when it dries.

I have been wanting to paint this rug for a few months. I finally got to it the other day. I chose to paint stripes because that seemed to be less difficult. I knew that I would do this wrong, or mess up somehow.  Well, I think it turned out really cute. I have another rug and I will be using a stencil to paint.   One thing I learned with this project...use a primer. I did not. I think that I would have used less paint and the paint would have adhered better to the rug. I haven't yet, but I'm going to apply a polyurethane over the rug.

Picture Frame Redo

This is another thrift store find picture 11x14 picture frame for 1.99. I painted it with Duck Egg Blue (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint). Sanded the edges and applied a dark wax.  I love the texture the frame gives to the room.

Redneck Wine Glass

My Mother-in-Law watched the kids this past weekend and I noticed she had a Redneck Wine Glass. I had bought one for my friend Patty and think they are so much fun. I told Marilyn, "I would like to have several of these glasses for my everyday drinking glasses". Ha!  It would look cute if I had cabninets that were glass or opened...so, you could see the mason jars. Anyhoo, at school today, she showed up with a bag from Fun Stuff. I was beginning to open the bag and realized, She has gone and bought me those redneck wine glasses. Sure enough. She did. That was sooo sweet. Now I just need my southern wrap around porch and I can sip tea out of my Redneck Glass! Ha!
